About
Crooked Post Farms

Our Story
Farm Heritage
Our journey began with a desire to return to original roots. Hailing from generations of farmers in rural Prince Edward Island, Ben MacLeod decided to try his hand at his family's former industry, this time on his parents' farm in Caledon, Ontario.
Chickens were an ideal starting point, allowing for a quick turnaround that could be completed over the summer months between university semesters. Ben aimed to elevate the standard from conventionally raised chicken to a fully pastured model that actively regenerates the soil. He also desired to bridge the growing gap between consumers and their food, providing education and exposure to the processes that bring us safe, healthy meals. With these desires, Crooked Post Farms was born.
Since 2022, Ben has continued to run the farm with these values in mind. In recent years, Crooked Post Farms has expanded to include fully-pastured turkeys, which are highly sought after in the fall months.
New as of 2026, Crooked Post Farms has been accepted into the Artisanal Chicken program, a provincially regulated initiative to ensure high quality chicken production on a larger scale. With larger scale production comes higher standards of care, which we are very excited to implement in the coming year.
Throughout it all, our goal is to provide our community with healthy, sustainably raised poultry they can trust—connecting people to the land, to good food, and to a better future.
