Our Pasture Raised Poultry
Chickens
At Crooked Post Farms, our meat chickens are our bread and butter. Our chickens arrive on the farm as day-olds, and are raised in a warm brooder for the first 3-4 weeks of life. Once they are fully feathered, they are moved onto our pastures in chicken tractors, where they have full access to sunshine, grasses and insects. These tractors are moved daily onto fresh grass, leaving behind a trail of nitrogen-rich manure, which revitalizes the grass and restores it for the future.
We believe in providing the best living conditions for our birds, allowing them to express their natural behaviors and have the best life possible.
Turkeys
Our turkeys are a more recent addition to the farm, but they are quickly becoming our favourite flock of the year. After 3-4 weeks in the brooder, our turkeys roam freely outdoors, foraging for insects and plants, which results in flavorful and nutritious meat. When you choose our pasture-raised turkeys, you're not just getting exceptional quality, but also supporting ethical and environmentally friendly farming.
